Kathryn J. Swoboda

Dr. Kathryn J. Swoboda is an associate professor of Neurology and adjunct associate professor of Pediatrics at the University of Utah, where she directs the Pediatric Motor Disorders Research Program. A current major focus of her research efforts is on the development of strategies to promote the early diagnosis and effective treatment intervention of neurodegenerative neuromuscular disorders, particularly Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). She has directed and/or has collaborated in numerous clinical trials and studies for children with a variety of motor disorders, including SMA, muscular dystrophies and congenital myopathies, alternating hemiplegia of childhood, and pediatric neurotransmitter disorders.
