Darlene Sawicki is a Nurse in Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). Darlene earned her Bachelors of Arts degree in Communication with emphasis in Health Science at Seattle Pacific University, her Nursing degree through Regis College and is currently completing her Master’s degree in Nursing for Adult Health Nurse Practitioner at Boston College.
Darlene is currently the Co Director of the ALS clinic at MGH and the Neurology Clinical Trials Unit overseeing the execution of various research trials in neurology. Darlene research and clinical activities include; orienting young investigators, new research nurses and coordinators to clinical trials. Darlene founded and Chairs the Nursing Research Committee for the Northeast ALS Consortium. Most recently, Darlene was the recipient of the Mary Forshay Scholarship award 2011. Darlene has given lectures on both research and in caring for people with disabilities. She actively mentors; young nurses, Clinical Research Coordinators and summer interns that are pursuing careers in healthcare (MD, PhD, NP, RN) in healthcare and in research.
