Jonathan W. Mink, MD PhD is Professor of Neurology, Neurobiology & Anatomy, Brain & Cognitive Sciences, and Pediatrics at the University of Rochester, where he is also Chief of Child Neurology. He received is BA and MA degrees from Wesleyan University and received his MD and PhD degrees from Washington University. He completed training in Pediatrics, Child Neurology, and Movement Disorders at Washington University. He has an active laboratory research program focused on the function of the basal ganglia circuits in motor control and movement disorders. In addition, he has active clinical research efforts in Tourette Syndrome, Dystonia, and Batten Disease. He is director of the Child Neurology Residency Program at the University of Rochester. Dr. Mink is Director of the University of Rochester Batten Disease Diagnostic and Clinical Research Center. He co-chairs the Scientific Advisory Board of the Tourette Syndrome Association and serves on the Medical and Scientific Advisory Committee of the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation and on the Medical Advisory Board of the Batten Disease Support and Research Association. He has been a recipient of several teaching and mentoring awards including the Neurology Resident Teaching Award and URMC Junior Faculty Mentoring Award. In 2002, he was awarded the Derek Denny-Brown Neurological Scholar Award from the American Neurological Association. He has written more than 100 manuscripts, chapters, and editorials. He is co-author of Movement Disorders in Childhood and has co-edited several books.
