Erik Henricson

Mr. Henricson is a member of the NIDRR / UC Davis Rehabilitation Research and Training Center in Neuromuscular Disease in the UC Davis Medical Center's Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He received his Master's Degree in Public Health in 1999 from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, where he was a Collaborative Evaluation Fellow with the American Cancer Society. He was the founding Operations Director of the Cooperative International Neuromuscular Research Group (CINRG) at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. and developed and participated in many of the group's clinical trials, serves on the CINRG Executive Committee and is currently serving in his seventh year as co-principal investigator of the NIDRR and NIAMS-funded CINRG study "A Longitudinal Study of the Relationship between Impairment, Activity Limitation, Participation and Quality of Life in Persons with Confirmed Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD)”. His research interests include development of functional outcome measures for clinical trials, the relationship between functional abilities and quality of life, and neurobehavioral functions of individuals with neuromuscular disorders. He is currently undertaking his PhD in human development, with a focus on cognitive neuroscience and quality of life and physical function in childhood and adolescence in individuals with neuromuscular disorders. He participated in the NIH Department of Clinical Bioethics Fellows Seminar at the NIH Clinical Center from 2001-2002, and has served as a scientific member of the UC Davis Medical Center Institutional Review Board since 2007.
