David B. Clifford

Dr. Clifford is the Melba and Forest Seay Professor of Clinical Neuropharmacology in Neurology at Washington University in St. Louis. He has a broad interest in development of therapeutics for neurological disorders and has participated in research on epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, neurosarcoidosis and a variety of infectious neurological conditions. He is principal investigator of the Neurologic AIDS Research Consortium (NARC), the Washington University AIDS Clinical Trials Unit, site PI for the CHARTER study in St. Louis, and PI for the Washington University Network for Excellence in Neuroscience Clinical Trials(NEXT) site. He participates as an investigator at the Washington University ADRC. He has a broad interest in the treatment of neurologic complications of infectious diseases, with special interest in progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy. He has participated in international research in Thailand, Ethiopia, Uganda, The Gambia, Guinea Bissau and Senegal.
