Jeffrey Burns, MD, MS is the Associate Administrative Director and Clinical Core Director of the KU Alzheimer’s Disease Center. Dr. Burns is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He also serves as the Director of the Clinical and Translational Science Unit at the Heartland Institute of Clinical and Translational Research at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Burns graduated with a degree in English and Japanese from the University of Notre Dame and attended medical school at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. After medical school, Dr. Burns completed his residency in neurology at the University of Virginia followed by a post-doctoral fellowship at the Alzheimer Disease Research Center at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Burns came to the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2004. He founded and developed the KU Alzheimer’s Memory Program. In 2009, Dr. Burns completed his Masters of Science in Clinical Research at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Kansas City, KS.
